We are registered for 30 residents and are able to offer accommodation in 24 single rooms and 3 companion rooms.
The client groups admitted to Stonebow House are over 65 years, male and female, who are frail elderly with a variety of needs relating to advancing years. We can also care for three individuals with Dementia related illness. We are not registered to provide nursing care.
The rooms are situated on two floors, most being on the ground floor. The first floor is served by a stair lift.
All residents have access to all areas of communal space via ramps and a stair lift.
Wheelchair users have access to all necessary areas of the home.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing individual items such as photographs, pictures and ornaments, also sentimental items of furniture . A memory book for each resident can also be created with the assistance of the resident and/or family. Family and friends can also email correspondences such as letters or photos which will be printed off and put in the memory book. Each room is appropriately furnished and locks are fitted to bedrooms to ensure privacy. Each resident is offered the key to their own room should they wish to keep it locked and also a locked facility within their room. A master key is kept in the office for use in an emergency. Each room also has TV and Phone point.
The home has a number of lounges and sitting areas in addition to well appointed dining rooms. In each bedroom and communal room, there is a nurse-call system available to ensure residents can request assistance from staff at any time of day or night. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit as often as they like, and are at liberty to be involved as much or as little in their loved ones’ care as they choose. All residents have individual care plan which are updated monthly or as needed. Residents and their families are encouraged to be involved in all aspects of care planning.
Stonebow management team has an open door policy, the home can be viewed at any time there is no need to make an appointment. The home strives to involve residents families and friends as much as possible in all aspects of the running of their home. A member of the management team will always be available if there are any concerns or problems that may arise.
The home also caters for Respite and Day Care to compliment the permanent residential services.
